How to Follow This Course?

Our art history course consists of text, supplemented with as many images as possible to clarify the texts. A well-known proverb says, “A picture is worth a thousand words.” This is certainly true in the art world, as your eyes are a crucial tool for appreciating art. Sometimes, I use images of art objects from our own collection, but mostly they are images of paintings and other artworks from private collections and museums. In the captions of the images, I provide deeper insights into the artworks in relation to the described art movement, allowing you to directly relate what you have read to the displayed artwork.

I hope that your visit to a building or museum will be different and richer after following this art history course.

Enjoy this art history course!
